About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Trainer to join the Speedy Academy. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to internal colleagues, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to perform their roles effectively.

This is a varied and engaging position where you will not only deliver training but also contribute to the development of new courses, support employee development plans, and help maintain the high standards of the Speedy Academy.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical and operational training sessions to Speedy employees, ensuring all content is engaging, accurate, and aligned to business needs
  • Assess delegate competence and provide constructive feedback to support their development
  • Map training delivery against individual development plans to ensure progression and skill alignment
  • Prepare training materials, presentations, and practical sessions in advance of delivery
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, ensuring all documentation is completed and returned to the Academy within required timeframes
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and support workforce capability
  • Contribute to training workstreams, helping design and develop new training programmes and update existing content
  • Continuously review and improve training delivery methods to enhance learning outcomes
  • Attend and actively participate in monthly trainer meetings to share best practice and develop knowledge
  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance your own technical and instructional skills
  • Promote and uphold Speedy and Academy values in all training interactions
  • Take ownership of challenges and proactively resolve issues relating to training delivery

Performance Measures

  • Monthly utilisation targets
  • Customer satisfaction scores via training evaluation feedback
  • Performance observations conducted quarterly
  • Personal performance and development reviewed through regular one-to-one sessions

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Strong alignment with Speedy and Academy values
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging training and support learner development
  • Good product or technical knowledge relevant to the hire or equipment industry
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel as required

Desirable

  • Previous instructional or training qualifications
  • IPAF Instructor certification
  • PASMA Instructor certification
  • FLT Instructor qualification
  • Experience within the transport or hire industry
  • Lifting operations experience
  • NEBOSH or CPC qualification
  • Experience delivering powered access or related technical training
