We are looking for an experienced Strategic Development Data Analyst , someone who thrives on challenge and working in a constantly changing and evolving environment. To drive performance improvement aligned with delivery of the business’s Velocity transformation strategy through deep evaluation, analysis, and presentation of data to consumers to allow quick and meaningful action. Focus will be across the business working with the Strategic Development team and supporting the wider Transformation programme to produce data driven insights and recommendations and promote a data-driven decision-making environment. The focus of the role is intended to be on one-off pieces of strategic analysis and insight to drive value within Speedy.
- Support the Head of Strategic Development to identify and quantify business improvement opportunities aligned to the delivery of the business’s transformation programme, Velocity.
- Provide additional adhoc analytical support to the wider Transformation programme working with the Programme and project managers to ensure that we are making data driven decisions across the programme.
- Build a strong network with other data analytics functions across the business and with third parties such as Peak to leverage the broader data analytic capabilities of the business and to enable access to the widest set of data across the business.
- Communicate insights in a powerful, quantified, and user-friendly way whilst measuring adoption and actions taken.
- Recommend then track a course of action based on sound data analytics to ad-hoc problems as identified by self, management, and other stakeholders.
- Be a resource and advocate for data and insights within the organisation by inspiring, teaching, and empowering others to use data. Increase commercial awareness and adoption in the business via training and improving capability.
- Actively promote the data led decision making mindset in the business, increase commercial awareness and adoption in the business via training and improving capability
- Improve the capability of business stakeholders utilising visualisation tools to enable them to self-serve enhanced analysis and insights.
- Work together with other data analysts across the business to build a network to increase the connections between areas of the business and thereby increase the overall data analytic capabilities of the organisation.
- Assist in setting and reporting of appropriate KPIs and targets across commercial and operational teams, with particular focus on areas related to delivery of Velocity.
- Interrogation of the data and reporting to ensure accuracy of results, including reconciliation between data sources.
- To undertake any other analysis/projects as required by the Head of Strategic Development or the Transformation Director.
What you’ll need:
- Significant experience in a data-driven analyst role
- Strong working knowledge of data visualisation systems (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and manipulation systems (Python, Aperture, SQL, R)
- Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Significant experience in presenting data and analysis effectively to both operational and leadership teams with focus on driving action
