The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Strategic Development Manager, ideally with a background in strategy consulting, someone who thrives on challenge and working in a constantly changing and evolving environment.

The focus will be on working with the Head of Strategic Development to provide strategic and operational consulting support within the business, ensuring the corporate strategy will achieve Speedy’s Vision. Ensuring the velocity programme stays focused on the critical activity supporting the strategy and delivering our vision for Speedy. Whilst engaging with the wider Speedy business to gain traction and identify new areas of opportunity.
The role will focus on the corporate strategy and the early inception of projects to support this before handing them over to other project and programme resource for delivery. On occasion, it may involve project managing opportunities through to completion.
- Strategy/Operational Development – Lead strategic analysis of business challenges and growth opportunities. Produce insight by working with SMEs and leveraging the data-rich environment. Providing strategic and tactical support to the Exec and senior management to turn the insight into tangible, deliverable plans.
- Data analysis – Support Data Analysts to develop financial models and business cases for individual initiatives. Enable data-driven decision-making on the direction of the Velocity Programme and Speedy’s future business strategy.
- Project management – Formulate implementation plans and mobilise strategic initiatives. Ensure initiatives are successfully implemented and deliver on the business case within the agreed budget and timescales.
Experience and skills
- An experienced strategy/operational development professional leader with a strong reputation and has held a high level of influence within their current or previous role.
- Demonstrable experience in developing company strategy and establishing projects in support of its execution, leading strategic projects, building high-performance teams and directing and coaching others to consistently deliver high-quality services.
- Experience in Strategic and/or Operational Consulting at a top-tier consulting firm. Additional industry experience preferred but not a pre-requisite.
- Strong analytical skill set.
- Comfortable working in an environment of ambiguity and a high degree of complexity.
- A great communicator, happy liaising and influencing at senior levels, both internal and external.
- Intellectually curious, with high energy and resilient, able to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving business.
