We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations Development, someone who thrives on challenge and working in a constantly changing and evolving environment. The main responsibilities and focus will be on providing strategic and operational consulting support within the business ensuring that we have the right solutions, challenging business cases and engaging with the wider Speedy business to gain traction.  This may involve project managing opportunities through to completion or handing them over to other project and programme resource for delivery.

Strategy/Operational Development – Identify and lead strategic analysis of business challenges and growth opportunities.  Providing strategic and tactical support to the Exec and senior management and turning insight into tangible, deliverable plans.

Project management – Formulate implementation plans for, and mobilise, strategic initiatives ensuring that Velocity Transformation initiatives are successfully implemented and deliver projected sales / saving benefits and operational improvements within agreed budget and timescales.

Data analysis – Develop financial models and business cases to support your analyses and enable data-driven decision-making.

Encourages the use of digital tools wherever possible – keeping up to speed with digital skills training as new systems are released.

Able to understand the priorities, plan and organise the work and manage own time to deliver within the expected timescales.

Is aware on the impact of risk to the business and applies the necessary controls.

  • Adaptability

Is responsive and open to changing circumstance.

  • Self-Motivation and Development

Is confident in own ability and is motivated to deliver, using opportunities to further develop.  

Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

Experience and skills

  • An experienced strategy/operational development professional leader who has a strong reputation and who has held a high level of influence within their current or previous role.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading strategic projects, building high performance teams and directing and coaching others to consistently deliver high quality services.
  • Experience in Strategic and/or Operational Consulting at a top tier consulting firm.   Additional industry experience preferred but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong analytical skill set
  • Comfortable working with an environment of ambiguity and high degree of complexity
  • A great communicator, happy to liaising and influencing at senior levels, both internal and external
  • Intellectually curious, with high energy and resilient, able to thrive in a fast paced and constantly evolving business.
