This is a fixed term contract for 12-18 months maternity cover.

The role of the Assistant Logistics Manager, on a fixed term contract for 12/ 18 months will play a key role within Speedy Logistics team and will be responsible for improving the logistics operation through data-based decision making and analysing and interpreting of logistics data. The role will provide logistics and distribution support to aid cost effective, efficient, timely and high-quality logistics solutions. 

Key accountabilities:

  • Support the directors to ensure the Speedy network receives the highest level of service delivery
  • Ensure appropriate infrastructure, systems and processes are implemented enabling Speedy to continuously improve and deliver sustainable business growth.
  • Effective implementation of a logistics business strategy and implementation of centralized TMS system.
  • Assist the Fleet and Distribution Director with the Management of risk to avoid, reduce and mitigate the potential of negative impact on the health of employees, customers or general public.
  • Engage all required stakeholders including Operations and Management through requested and self-initiated reporting
  • Managing and reporting on the compliance performance of ARP delivery across the network
  • Support with the successful integration of warehousing management system including barcoding
  • Regular Depot Audits for Logistics Compliance and Standards to improve product delivery, quality and control
  • Develop and implement Peak optimization and continues improvement plan.
  • Work the Logistic Manager to ensure continuous improvement on all process.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

You will need:

  • Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Competent and developing user of Microsoft Excel with ability to work with large data sets and produce data models
  • Self-assured, reliable, and able to demonstrate good/developing influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience of collaborative working
  • Data expert with significant analytical skills
  • Problem solving
  • Experience of working within a busy, fast paced environment
