We're looking for a Financial Systems & Control Improvement Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across our financial systems, controls and processes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant or finance systems professional who enjoys improving the way things work, embracing technology and collaborating with colleagues across the business. You'll work at the heart of finance transformation, helping to streamline processes, strengthen controls and enhance the overall user experience for our finance teams.

What you'll be doing

As our Financial Systems & Control Improvement Accountant, you'll:

  • Support the identification and delivery of finance systems, process and control improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Review existing finance processes to identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and greater efficiency.
  • Work closely with finance teams to understand operational challenges and develop practical solutions that improve accuracy and productivity.
  • Support the implementation, enhancement and optimisation of finance systems and related technologies.
  • Maintain clear process documentation, control frameworks and system procedures to promote consistent ways of working.
  • Analyse finance data and exception reporting to identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT, system providers and key stakeholders to gather business requirements, coordinate testing and support successful system changes.
  • Deliver training, guidance and ongoing support to finance colleagues to encourage adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects and wider continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support across Finance during audit, budgeting and month-end activities where required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who can combine strong financial knowledge with a passion for continuous improvement.

You'll ideally have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or significant experience working within finance systems and process improvement.
  • A strong understanding of finance processes, financial controls and accounting principles.
  • Experience working with ERP, finance and reporting systems, including system implementation or enhancement projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong Excel and data analysis capability.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, automation or business change initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, IT and the wider business.
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to improve processes and deliver positive change.
