Job Title - Rail Equipment Engineer

Location - Doncaster

Working Hours - Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week

Based in the depot, the Rail Engineer is a key role to Speedy's supply of rail tools and equipment; ensuring service schedules are up to date and repairing faulty rail equipment as necessary to ensure it remains available for hire.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong customer focus
  • Good knowledge of the local area
  • Driving licence and experience driving within the UK 
  • Be able to assist trained rail engineers during weekends to support various jobs on track, such as setting out our sight lighting and operating our clipping machines
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
  • Experience with 2 and 4 stroke engines
  • Experience of railway works advantageous
  • Weekend overtime works expected
  • Flexibility due to railway works
  • Excellent time keeping
  • Flexibility and availability on weekends and holidays (visibility at least 4 weeks in advance to allow planning).
