Overall Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, the Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies that maximise revenue and profitability for Speedy Hire plc. The role involves analysing market trends, customer behaviours, competitor actions, and internal costs to determine optimal pricing for products and services. The Pricing Manager will also monitor the performance of pricing decisions and make adjustments as required, ensuring strategies align with business objectives.
Aims & Objectives
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, preferences, and willingness to pay. 
- Monitor competitor pricing and positioning to identify opportunities and threats. 
- Develop pricing models and scenarios based on cost, value, and demand. 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain) to ensure alignment of pricing with business goals and customer expectations. 
- Clearly communicate pricing decisions and rationale to internal and external stakeholders. 
- Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing actions and implement adjustments when required. 
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory pricing standards. 
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute pricing strategies across different product categories and customer segments. 
- Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to assess pricing opportunities and risks. 
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to align pricing tactics with overall strategy. 
- Work closely with the Commercial Governance Manager to maintain pricing models, tools, and databases. 
- Deliver clear reporting and analysis to measure the effectiveness of pricing decisions and provide insights. 
- Lead and manage pricing projects and initiatives across the organisation. 
- Ensure compliance with company pricing policies and guidelines. 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified / finalist CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant. 
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to support and influence decision-making. 
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including modelling with large data sets. 
- Proven experience in pricing, revenue management, or business analysis. 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. 
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
- Knowledge of pricing software or platforms (desirable).
