The Role – Operations Support Manager

Location: Glasgow
Hours: 42 hours per week
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Support Manager to lead and supervise all operations teams across your business function. You will be responsible for coaching, motivating, and developing Hire Desk Managers to deliver Service Excellence to both internal and external customers.

Leading by example, you will embed a positive culture of continuous improvement, ensuring operational procedures are consistently reviewed, measured, and improved. You will play a key role in minimising risk and cost to Speedy, while ensuring process adherence, transactional accuracy, and strong revenue and margin performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop operations teams, with a particular focus on Hire Desk Managers

  • Drive a culture of Service Excellence for both internal and external customers

  • Embed a continuous improvement mindset across the operation

  • Measure and monitor operational procedures to reduce risk and cost

  • Ensure all processes and procedures are followed accurately and consistently

  • Monitor and manage SLAs and KPIs to identify and deliver performance improvements

  • Review and enhance Balanced Scorecards and business function dashboards

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

  • Prioritise workload effectively, particularly in high-pressure environments and against tight deadlines

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience leading, motivating, and managing large teams, with strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Demonstrable experience monitoring SLAs and KPIs to drive operational improvement

  • Strong coaching and people development capability

  • Ability to provide clear leadership, guidance, and support to employees

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and conscientious approach

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Proven track record of delivering customer service excellence

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Experience using Axapta, On-Guard, and Microsoft Office applications

  • Previous experience within the hire industry

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure
