We are looking to recruit an Operations Apprentice to work within our HS2 Works Site, Aylesbury (HP18 0XP). The Operations Apprentice is a vital part of a Speedy depot, as they are multi-skilled and have the skills, knowledge and experience to work in many departments in the depot - from working hands on with the equipment, testing it before it goes out to customers, to dealing with customers on the hire desk via telephone and email. Relationship building is the key to success as the Operations Apprentice coordinates the entire hire process from taking the initial order through to delivery and collection. They liaise with every part of the depot to ensure the needs of the customer are met and that they’re satisfied with our service, helping us to continue to be the best hire company in the industry. 

As an Operations Apprentice at Speedy, you will take part in our structured 18 month training programme studying the Level 2 Hire Controller apprenticeship standard and completing the associated end point assessment (EPA).  During this time you will be trained by our  experienced colleagues along with working with our specialist apprenticeship provider.

  • Are comfortable working with technology and are keen to be a part of Speedy`s digital transformation
  • Have good IT skills
  • Can be adaptable and multi-task
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Want to work as part of a team
  • Show good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Have an interest in engineering/construction/customer service/hire industry
  • Are willing to embark on an apprenticeship qualification
  • Are ambitious and driven
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver. 
**You must hold at least GCSE or equivalent Maths and English Grade 2/Grade E/Level 1 or above in order to be considered for this role.**
It would be desirable for you to hold GCSE or equivalent Maths and English Grade 4/Grade C/Level 2 or above.
