We may have started small, but we've always had big ideas.

We're looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join our Strategic Accounts team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract for up to 12 months.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven individual who thrives on building long-term partnerships with major customers. Working across a national portfolio, you'll play a key role in driving growth, delivering innovative solutions and ensuring Speedy continues to be the partner of choice for some of the UK's largest organisations across the construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

If you're passionate about strategic account management, customer excellence and delivering commercial success, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As National Account Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of strategic national customers, developing and delivering account plans that drive sustainable growth and strengthen long-term relationships.

You'll work collaboratively across the wider business to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions and ensure an exceptional customer experience from initial engagement through to operational delivery.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong commercial awareness, excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at every level, including board-level contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of National Account customers across the construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and senior point of contact.
  • Develop end-to-end customer solutions that support both customer objectives and Speedy's strategic goals.
  • Retain and grow existing revenue while identifying opportunities for new products and services.
  • Develop and implement National Account Plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead customer engagement throughout investigations, solution development, implementation and operational delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare commercial proposals and respond to customer opportunities.
  • Oversee pricing strategies and commercial submissions for your portfolio.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and growth plans.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and pipeline activity within CRM systems.
  • Monitor account performance, customer debt and commercial performance against agreed targets.
  • Support national marketing initiatives and identify new business opportunities for inclusion within the National Account portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a strong national network of customer contacts, including executive and board-level stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

You'll be a confident relationship builder with a proven ability to manage strategic customer accounts and deliver commercial growth.

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience in National Account Management, Strategic Account Management or Business Development.
  • A strong commercial mindset with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven success delivering revenue growth and developing long-term account strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging at senior and board level.
  • Strong planning, forecasting and budget management experience.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage customer activity and reporting.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple business functions.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Experience within the hire, construction, infrastructure or industrial sectors would be highly advantageous.
