About the Role

We are currently looking for a Mobile Engineer to join our team in Plymouth. Based primarily at customer sites, you will play a vital role in ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards, service schedules are adhered to, and customers receive rapid support when breakdowns occur.
This is a hands-on, field-based position where no two days are the same. You will be working both independently and collaboratively to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance of hire equipment at customer sites
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs quickly and effectively
Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimising downtime for customers
Ensure all equipment service records and schedules are accurate and up to date
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong working relationships
Support operational efficiency across your business unit
Contribute to delivering the company’s ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver
What We’re Looking For
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Proven mechanical engineering experience (ideally within hire, plant, or a similar engineering environment)
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a wider team
A proactive and customer-focused approach
