A Hire Controller is a key role in the equipment and tool hire industry. They act as the main link between our customers and the depot, ensuring that equipment is available, delivered, and collected on time while providing excellent service.
We’re looking for a motivated Hire Controller to join our team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of our depot operations, ensuring our customers receive excellent service from order through to delivery and collection.
About the Role
As a Hire Controller, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, managing the entire hire process from start to finish. You’ll build strong relationships, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure equipment is delivered on time and in top condition.
This is a desk-based role where you’ll work closely with stock teams, drivers, and engineers to ensure a seamless service with minimal delays — keeping our customers happy and our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end hire process, from order taking to delivery and collection
Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers
Liaise daily with stock teams, drivers, and engineers to ensure equipment availability
Provide clear, professional communication to both customers and colleagues
Support operational efficiency within the depot
Uphold our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver by supporting sustainable and responsible practices
What We’re Looking For
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptability and a proactive attitude
Commitment to learning and personal development
A valid UK driving licence
Previous experience in the hire industry, sales, or a similar operational role
