About the Role

Speedy Hire PLC is looking for a talented and motivated Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team. Based at our Haydock office, this role is central to delivering accurate, insightful financial analysis and reporting that drives strategic and operational performance across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven, commercially aware analyst looking to make a real impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting functions, with a strong focus on Power BI, SQL, and data accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver, interpret, and analyse performance reports, providing insightful commentary and practical business recommendations.

  • Develop actionable insights by analysing customer, product, and financial data.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and external audit processes.

  • Drive consistency in reporting through Power BI and SQL, supporting a single source of truth for data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making through data-driven insights.

  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities or issues across customer segments and product lines.

  • Analyse business unit performance and contribute to the development of improvement plans.

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across data sources through effective reconciliation and interrogation.

  • Support and mentor junior analysts, promoting a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for senior management initiatives.


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a proactive, curious, and detail-oriented individual who is confident working with large datasets, has strong communication skills, and is able to turn complex data into clear and concise insights.

  • Able to influence stakeholders and drive business improvement


Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant with a strong analytical background

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent relevant experience

  • Proficient in Power BI and SQL, with experience in creating impactful data visualisations

  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Experience working with ERP systems (ideally BPC and D365)

  • Understanding of Speedy Hire operations (preferred but not essential)
