We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Driver Category C + HIAB (Hook) to join our Newport depot. This role is essential to making sure our customers receive their equipment safely, on time and with great service. You’ll be a key part of our front-line team and a positive ambassador for Speedy’s values every day.
About the role – what you’ll be doing:
As a Driver Category C + HIAB, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our operations by:
Delivering and collecting hire equipment across the local and regional area using a Category C vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane (hook required).
Operating the HIAB safely and confidently in line with your training, legislation and Speedy policies.
Carrying out daily vehicle and HIAB checks to ensure everything is safe, compliant and roadworthy.
Securing loads correctly to prevent damage or movement during transport.
Completing all delivery paperwork and digital records accurately and efficiently.
Providing excellent customer service and representing Speedy professionally on customer sites.
Explaining basic equipment use where needed (full training provided).
Following site rules and health & safety standards at all times.
Communicating with the depot and transport teams regarding route changes or urgent deliveries.
Supporting the depot with yard duties, equipment checks or organisation when required.
Playing your part in supporting Speedy’s ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
What you’ll need:
Full UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence
HIAB (Lorry Loader) licence with Hook attachment – essential
No more than 6 penalty points
Previous commercial driving experience within the UK
Good knowledge of local roads and routes
Strong customer focus and communication skills
Ability to complete manual handling tasks
A positive approach to safety, compliance and teamwork
