Overview of the Role:

Lloyds British is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager – Product Sales to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing sales for our industrial product range. This is a national role, offering the flexibility of remote working with travel to client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate New Business: Identify and develop new business opportunities for industrial products, while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including manufacturers, distributors, and clients.

  • Customer Retention & Expansion: Cultivate and nurture existing client relationships to expand business opportunities, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  • Close Deals & Product Quotes: Successfully close business deals, generating product quotes, and identifying add-on opportunities. Build rapport and gain the trust of clients in a personable manner.

  • Collaborative Communication: Work closely with various stakeholders within LB and SASL, both collaboratively and independently, to achieve shared results.

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth.

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.

  • Sales Metrics: Track and analyse sales performance to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of objectives.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on business development progress to senior management.

Technical Skills & Experience Required:

  • Lifting Accessories & Equipment Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of lifting accessories and equipment, either through practical trade experience or a foundation in LEEA.

  • Industrial Sales Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or key account management within the industrial products sector.

  • Client Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and partnerships. Essential skills for client retention and expanding relationships across sectors related to end product use.

  • Negotiation & Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively, building trust with clients and influencing decision-makers.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies to maximize business growth.

  • CRM & MS Office: Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate accurate reports and analyses.

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including the 9-day fortnight scheme under our Speedy Work-Life Balance initiative.

  • Location: National role with flexibility for remote working and occasional travel to client sites.
