A leading provider of lifting and equipment inspection services in the UK, Lloyds British, a Speedy business, has been providing specialist testing, inspection, maintenance, certification, and training services for the lifting services industry for over 200 years.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly motived, sales driven, Business Development Manager – for Scotland and Northern England within the engineering sector for Lloyds British.

Reporting to the Sales Director you will be responsible for winning new business and developing key accounts. You will be customer focused, building long and lasting business relationships.

The main purpose of this role is to identify and develop revenue streams from new and existing clients in selected market sectors through the implementation of robust and targeted sales strategies which improves profitability by establishing and developing mutually rewarding relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners both directly and via brokers or other intermediaries.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager or sales executive. Ideally 2-5 years in a service-based industry preferable within the inspection, testing and engineering sector and a general understanding of Lifting, Cranes, plant, and machinery. 
  • A demonstrable track record of sales within an engineering organisation.
  • Engage in strategic customer visits to acquire new customers and nurture existing accounts within our operational sector.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth handover of customers.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business and positive customer relationships to encourage repeat business while acting as the face of Lloyds British.
  • Awareness of and familiarity with the best information sources to remain fully appraised of the latest developments and thinking within relevant industry sectors to ensure Lloyds British will continue to operate and be recognised as an industry leader in its chosen markets.
  • A self-starter, motivated and eager to learn new skills.
  • A track record of achieving challenging targets.
  • Outstanding communicator, with a desire and willingness to provide excellent customer service.
  • Driving license
