We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially driven leader to join the business as an Asset Director. This is a high-profile strategic role with responsibility for shaping and leading the Group’s asset and product portfolio strategy across the organisation.
As Asset Director, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Group’s asset portfolio, ensuring we hold the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, technical assurance, commercial performance, and operational excellence.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Data teams to drive strategic decision-making, optimise lifecycle performance, support innovation, and ensure our portfolio remains aligned to customer needs and future business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of the Group’s asset and product portfolio
- Drive portfolio optimisation, lifecycle management, and category performance
- Act as the technical authority for product compliance, standards, and regulatory assurance
- Lead investment and divestment decisions across product categories
- Ensure optimal fleet levels and asset deployment across the business
- Drive innovation and introduction of new products and technologies
- Partner with Procurement on supplier strategy, performance, and selection
- Provide senior leadership insight into portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a strategic and commercially astute leader with significant experience within an asset-heavy, hire, logistics, engineering, or service-led environment.
You will ideally have:
- Extensive experience leading asset and product strategy
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle economics and category management
- Experience in capital allocation, investment modelling, and strategic planning
- Technical knowledge relating to compliance, standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
- The ability to influence and collaborate at senior stakeholder level
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
